2 Dec 2022 – Unearthed Productions showcased ongoing sustainability efforts at the MICE Sustainability Summit 2022, which was held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre on Thursday (1 Dec).
Organised by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS), the MICE Sustainability Summit 2022 also saw the launch of the MICE Sustainability Roadmap.
The roadmap sets out clear goals and strategies to raise sustainability standards across Singapore’s MICE industry. The hope is that industry players will begin measuring their waste and carbon footprints generated at events next year and that they will become certified and recognised for their sustainability efforts by 2024.
These efforts are already in full swing at Unearthed Productions even as more ways to be sustainable are being studied. They were shared with members of the media and other MICE industry players at the MICE Sustainability Summit 2022.
During the showcase, audience members sat on chairs and benches built from upcycled wooden crates and pallets. These seats are commonly reused at lifestyle events managed by Unearthed Productions.
Adam Piperdy explains how the ‘plantable’ notebook works.
A cabinet – itself created out of cardboard – also displayed a range of merchandise that Unearthed Productions sourced from sustainable and ethical suppliers in Singapore, including a ‘plantable’ notebook whose pages are embedded with seeds and biodegradable cutleries. These products are popular door gifts at business events of Unearthed Productions clients.
